It's a digital world.  Completely "a la carte".  Music mostly seems to be "free."  Yet, somehow , music artists & producers expect to earn a living.  New artists experiment with giving away mp3 files in the hope 
that you will buy the CD or go to their concerts. 

   Many old-guard artists are fighting hard against piracy.  Some record labels are playing nasty with customers' computers   -   by placing unwanted DRM software (sometimes even rootkits) into the playback process. 

  Legal Music Downloads are the safest way to get what you want.  Apple's iTunes and other services are a huge success right now.  Torrent download servers are a risky alternative legally & PC insecure.  There are lots of mp3 blogs out there , with webmasters eager to share files and offer personal reviews. Lots of amateur & professional  musicians are willing to share their music with you to help promote their careers. 

   In the end , we should all feel that we belong to a Music Community. We all play a part. We all want new music to hear. We all want music artists who create & produce music to make a decent living.  It's best 
that we all come to some creative agreements that keep us all happy. 

   I strongly support our composers , songwriters , improvisers & performers in their creative efforts. 
Think of all the years of schooling and practice and gigging  -  all that personal sacrifice.  All so that they 
can share their musical experiences & visions with you. 

   We MUST reward musical genius!
