Very often neither the composers nor their music is responsible for their neglect. There was so much good music composed through the centuries (and still is) that it's impossible for a single person to listen to all of it, so we've got to choose. But too often we stick to the standard repertoire and reduce the history of classical music to the same "big" names like Bach, Beethoven and Mozart. " |
